Softball Recap: Riverside Generals vs. Raines Vikings
Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 21-5 to the Raines Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-22 back in March.
A Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. C Emanuel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Raines, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Riverside will head out on the road to take on Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Generals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Raines, they will be playing at home against Yulee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
