Baseball Recap: Apopka Comes Up Short

Apopka has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.25 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Winter Park Wildcats, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Blue Darters couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Apopka's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Winter Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Apopka will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against University at 6:00 p.m. As for Winter Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Brantley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
