Recap: Terre Haute South Vigo Braves vs. Plainfield Quakers

The Terre Haute South Vigo Braves pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-55 to Plainfield. While losing is never fun, Terre Haute South Vigo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Plainfield is ranked 46th).

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zayvion Baker, who scored 21 points. Josh Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.

Terre Haute South Vigo struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Plainfield pulled down ten offensive rebounds.

Plainfield was led to victory by Collin Schmidt and Noah Smith. Schmidt dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Smith scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Ellis, who scored ten points.

Terre Haute South Vigo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Plainfield, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Terre Haute South Vigo will be playing at home against West Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Terre Haute South Vigo is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Plainfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Greenwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
