Basketball Recap: Patterson Mill Takes a Loss

Patterson Mill lost against Fallston back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Patterson Mill took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fallston Cougars. Patterson Mill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Patterson Mill still got an impressive performance from Rylie Madsen, who posted 12 points and four blocks. That was a full 34.3% of Patterson Mill's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Abby Shertzer was another key player, putting up seven points.

Fallston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Gnagey led the charge by posting eight points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Gnagey a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Natalie Wirth, who put up six points and 11 rebounds.

Patterson Mill's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Fallston, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Patterson Mill will face off against North Harford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fallston, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-43 win against Glenelg Country on the 11th.
