Basketball Game Preview: Norco Cougars vs. Bonita Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Norco Cougars face off against the Bonita Bearcats at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Norco is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They fell 68-59 to Rialto.

Despite their defeat, Norco saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caleb Ward, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Ibbetson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bonita came up short against Diamond Bar on Thursday and fell 73-66. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bearcats came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Brahmas are ranked 806th).

Norco's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Bonita, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
