Baseball Recap: East Wake Comes Up Short

East Wake fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rolesville on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 11-10. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

East Wake has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.83 runs. As for Rolesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

East Wake and Rolesville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 282nd) will meet West Johnston (ranked 64th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rolesville will face off against Wake Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (166 vs. 23).
