Basketball Game Preview: Pelican Rapids Vikings vs. Frazee Hornets

Pelican Rapids has gone a perfect 10-0 against Frazee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pelican Rapids Vikings will face off against the Frazee Hornets at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Pelican Rapids' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Last Monday, Pelican Rapids humbled Wadena-Deer Creek with a 79-27 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Wolverines are ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Frazee beat Lake Park-Audubon 68-63 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Pelican Rapids has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Frazee, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

Everything went Pelican Rapids' way against Frazee in their previous meeting back in January, as Pelican Rapids made off with a 71-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pelican Rapids since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
