Baseball Recap: Hilton Head Island's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Hilton Head Island unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 7-4 to the Bluffton Bobcats. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Jack Boatwright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Hilton Head Island: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Kyle Larson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hilton Head Island's record is now 7-10. As for Bluffton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

While Hilton Head Island had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
