Basketball Recap: Tavarius Pittman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Reagan over Coral Reef

Reagan extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They fell 70-57 to the Coral Reef Barracudas. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Barracudas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Reagan's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tavarius Pittman, who posted 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Ramos, who earned 15 points.

As for Coral Reef, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

Leading Coral Reef to victory were Isaiah Charlot and Andy Manfugas. Charlot went 8-for-10 to rack up 22 points along with eight boards and three steals, while Manfugas scored 14 points and eight rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Charlot now owns an excellent 41.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Deandrick Cruise was another key player, putting up ten points.

Reagan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-38 defeat against Westwood Christian on the 5th. As for Coral Reef, they have also already played their next game, a 67-50 victory against Homestead on the 4th.
