Fox River Classic league recap: 5/29/12

With a rough week, Preble dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. Preble fell from No. 24 to No. 27 after going 0-1 over the past week. The Hornets are ranked No. 2348 in the nation, and have an overall record of 15-8.

De Pere (22-4, 19-3) is riding a league-best 7-game winning streak. The streak was extended by another two games over the past week, including an 8-6 win over Pulaski.

Pulaski's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 28 hits and 20 walks to lead the league in both categories. The Red Raiders' pitchers have been charged with only 148 hits and have struck out 177 batters. Andrew Thompson is tops on the staff with 42 Ks.

Luke Vanlanen had five hits in five at bats in Pulaski's 5-4 victory over Ashwaubenon on Tuesday. He also drove in four runners.

Dylan Bersch was the star in Pulaski's 5-4 triumph over Ashwaubenon, as he cracked two home runs balls over the fence in the game.
