Basketball Game Preview: Istrouma Indians vs. Brusly Panthers

Istrouma is 0-4 against Brusly since January of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Istrouma Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brusly Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Istrouma is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a hard 58-41 fall against Plaquemine. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Green Devils are ranked 88th).

St. Michael typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Brusly proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 50-35.

Brusly is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Istrouma, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-23.

Istrouma was taken down by Brusly 65-35 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Istrouma avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
