Soccer Game Preview: Midtown vs. Allatoona

The Midtown Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Allatoona Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Midtown came up short against Decatur and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, Midtown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Decatur are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Allatoona kept a clean sheet against Ringgold on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for Allatoona, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Allatoona and bumps their season record up to 9-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Midtown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
