Nico Hamilton looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Josh Adams was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Etiwanda: the team is 2-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Lj Roellig was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Bishop Gorman was the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over Palo Verde. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Gaels considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Noah Ramos looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Justin Rodrigues was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Yatson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Bishop Gorman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bishop Gorman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Etiwanda's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4-1.
