Baseball Recap: West Jefferson Starts Season with Loss at Home

West Jefferson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Soda Springs Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 16-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Soda Springs' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.

Looking ahead, West Jefferson will be playing in front of their home fans against Challis at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Soda Springs, they will square off against Marsh Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
