Baseball Game Preview: Dixie County Bears vs. Fort White Indians

The Dixie County Bears will square off against the Fort White Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dixie County is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They fell 15-12 to Lafayette.

Joel Lord was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort White). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ocala Christian a 19-0 shutout on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Patrick Kennedy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Bell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Fort White always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fort White's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Dixie County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Dixie County took their win against Fort White in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3. Does Dixie County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort White turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
