Volleyball Recap: Canon City Takes a Loss

Canon City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Discovery Canyon Thunder, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Their offense was headlined by Ben Slabaugh and Elias Hunter, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Micah Paschall and his four assists.

Discovery Canyon can attribute much of their success to Bradley Hocking, who had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Hocking a new career-high.

Canon City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Discovery Canyon, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Canon City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against James Irwin on the 12th. As for Discovery Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Grandview on the 12th.
