Baseball Recap: Aurora Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Aurora Christian Academy lost against Lighthouse Christian back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Arrows fell 13-9 to the Chargers.

Alex Steele was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Aurora Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise. Steele was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sawyer Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Andrew Sweeney was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Aurora Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lighthouse Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Aurora Christian Academy will look to defend their home field on Monday against Maranatha Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. As for Lighthouse Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Mansfield on the 8th.
