Linton-Stockton dropped down to 6-3 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 35-14 to the Northview Knights. The Miners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-8.

When it comes to explaining why Linton-Stockton lost, don't look at Paul Oliver. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 71 yards and one TD on only five passes.

As for Northview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Northview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Bath, who rushed for 99 yards and one score on only 12 carries, and also threw for 146 yards and one TD on only 13 passes. Another player making a difference was Slade Fell, who rushed for 52 yards and three touchdowns.

Linton-Stockton and Northview are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Miners will face off against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roncalli at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 29.4 points per game this season.
