The Coal Ridge Titans will face off against the Basalt Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Vail Mountain wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Coal Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Chloe Coon. The Titans put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday with plenty of help from Coon, who had 21 digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Coal Ridge walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Basalt can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They came out on top against Moffat County by a score of 3-1.
Basalt was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 25-14, 25-17.
Coal Ridge better keep an eye on Sidney Barill. She was instrumental in Basalt's win, getting 34 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Barill has posted since back in September of 2024. Jo Becker also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Basalt was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. They are 4-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Basalt's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Coal Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Coal Ridge has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Basalt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
