Baseball Recap: Naugatuck Comes Up Short

Naugatuck suffered their closest defeat since May 28, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Oxford Wolverines by a score of 9-7. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kevin Cestari made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Brenes, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Naugatuck's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Oxford, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Naugatuck is set to challenge their familiar foe Wolcott at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oxford will square off against rival Holy Cross at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
