Softball Recap: East Pennsboro Takes a Loss

East Pennsboro easily dispatched Harrisburg last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. East Pennsboro fell just short of the Middletown Blue Raiders by a score of 12-10 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Sofia Morrill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, East Pennsboro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

East Pennsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Middletown, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Pennsboro will welcome Susquehanna Township at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Middletown, they will square off against Trinity at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Trinity's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Middletown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
