Recap: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. Palmetto Panthers
The Hialeah Thoroughbreds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 93-70 defeat at the hands of Palmetto. While losing is never fun, Hialeah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Palmetto is ranked 117th).
Palmetto was led to victory by Samfree Sarante and Santiago Henriquez. Sarante went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist, while Henriquez dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 assists. Henriquez hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Lipson, who scored 13 points along with six assists.
Hialeah's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Palmetto, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Hialeah will head out on the road to square off against Mourning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mourning is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Palmetto, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m.
