Volleyball Recap: Long Reach Takes a Loss

Long Reach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guilford Park Panther. The Lightning were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panther apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Long Reach ultimately came up short, they really made Guilford Park work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Meredith Brown paced Long Reach's offense, picking up nine kills. Brown got some help from London Clay and her nine assists. Mallory Routh controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Long Reach's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Guilford Park, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Long Reach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Hammond on the 1st. As for Guilford Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Marriotts Ridge on the 1st.
