Baseball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Lexington was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the West Limestone Wildcats, falling 18-2. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Lexington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Scheetz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for West Limestone, they moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coming up, Lexington will head out on the road to face off against Rogers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rogers is coming into the contest with three straight wins at home, so Lexington will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for West Limestone, a feisty cat fight will be fought as West Limestone Wildcats duke it out with Hackleburg Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. They will need to watch out since Hackleburg has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
