The Vista PEAK Prep Bison will face off against the Denver South Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Vista PEAK Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Vista PEAK Prep couldn't beat Brighton on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Bison took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Brody Brancato made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ace Kelly, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Denver South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to Northfield.

Hunter Vitello was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Leo Royer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Denver South's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Vista PEAK Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Vista PEAK Prep skirted past Denver South 6-5 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Do the Bison have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
