Baseball Game Preview: White River Hornets vs. Kent-Meridian Royals

For the second straight game, White River will face off against Kent-Meridian. The Hornets will head out to take on the Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. White River will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

White River's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Kent-Meridian. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Landon Hill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hill was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jackson Rock was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Caleb Dale was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI and one triple.

White River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

White River's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Kent-Meridian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
