Basketball Game Preview: Gadsden County Jaguars vs. North Florida Christian Eagles

The Gadsden County Jaguars will square off against the North Florida Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Back in December of 2024, Gadsden County came up short against Marianna and fell 61-53. The defeat continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

North Florida Christian's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Harrison on Saturday. North Florida Christian snuck past St. John Paul II with a 55-50 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Panthers are ranked 235th).

Gadsden County better keep an eye on Jed Dickens. He was instrumental in North Florida Christian's win, going 9 of 11 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Estimond, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Gadsden County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for North Florida Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Gadsden County was able to grind out a solid win over North Florida Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 60-53. Does Gadsden County have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Florida Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
