Volleyball Recap: Schalmont Takes a Loss

Schalmont came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Mohonasen Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sabres of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Schalmont took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23, 29-27.

Nadia Sawyer paced Schalmont's offense, picking up eight kills. Sawyer got some help from Olivia Dagostino and her 12 assists. Finally, Sawyer was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Meghan Lavenia, who had four aces and three digs. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Schalmont now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mohonasen, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Coincidentally, Schalmont and Mohonasen will both be playing Lansingburgh the next time they take the court. The Sabres will host the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
