Basketball Game Preview: Bismarck Indians vs. Bourbon War Hawks

The Bismarck Indians will face off against the Bourbon War Hawks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Bismarck has given up an average of 60.5 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bismarck saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to St. Paul Lutheran. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bismarck might have lost, but man, August Martinez was a machine: he almost dropped a triple-double with 33 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Martinez has become a key player for the Indians: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least five blocks, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Dunlap, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Bourbon took a blow against Valley last Tuesday, falling 73-32. The War Hawks have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Bismarck's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Bourbon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Bismarck took their victory against Bourbon when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 61-36 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
