Chalmette made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Newman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Chalmette Owls' pitchers stepped up to hand the Newman Greenies a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Chalmette's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Newman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Coincidentally, Chalmette and Newman will both be playing Archbishop Shaw the next time they take the field. Newman will host Archbishop Shaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Chalmette will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
