Basketball Recap: Shawnee Takes a Loss

Shawnee lost against Pleasure Ridge Park back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Shawnee Golden Eagles were outmatched by the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers and fell 70-30. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Panthers are ranked 30th).

Shawnee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Shawnee will head out to square off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shawnee is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers challenge the Bardstown Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
