Recap: Follett Panthers vs. Miami Warriors
On Friday, The Follett Panthers faced the Miami Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Follett fell to Miami 36-30. Follett's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Haiden Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Miami, rushing for 119 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Breken Early did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Follett's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Miami, their win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Follett is on the road again on Friday and play against White Deer at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. White Deer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Follett is ranked 22nd). As for Miami, they will head out on the road to face off against McLean at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
