Liberty posted their closest victory since April 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Granada Matadors. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 victory the Matadors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kaitlyn Macias was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Kate Skinner looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Tuttle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Liberty and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Granada, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.

Coming up, Liberty will take on San Ramon Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Granada, they will face off against Freedom at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
