Baseball Recap: Wadsworth Takes a Loss

Wadsworth fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Medina on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Battling Bees by a score of 3-2. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Battling Bees when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jason Copeland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

Wadsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Medina, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Wadsworth will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on the 27th. As for Medina, they will square off against Walsh Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
