Baseball Game Preview: Valley Head Tigers vs. Gaylesville Trojans

Valley Head hasn't had much luck against Gaylesville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Valley Head Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Gaylesville Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Valley Head is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Hardy Memorial get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Ethan Blevins and Cayden Collins did most of the damage at the plate: Blevins scored four runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-3, while Collins went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Blevins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tytan Blevins, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Gaylesville can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Sand Rock with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Valley Head's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Gaylesville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Valley Head suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Gaylesville in their previous matchup back in February. Can Valley Head avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
