Perkins extended the longest winning streak in Sandusky Bay this week by beating Margaretta, 28-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Pirates.
Perkins' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Smith threw for 229 and three touchdowns and Dale Irby had 151 yards receiving. On the ground Mitch Benkey chipped in 61 yards. Aaron Mawhirter helped Perkins' passing attack out by catching four balls for 37 yards.
Perkins' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 1199 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Irby has 26 catches for 459 yards. Benkey leads the league in rushing with 808 yards.
Oak Harbor led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Sandusky Central Catholic.
