Volleyball Recap: Durant Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Durant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Newsome Wolves, falling 3-0. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Wolves when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-13.

Ana Marquez paced Durant's offense, picking up three kills. Marquez got some help from Isabella Bowen and her six assists.

Izabella Ruiz was the offensive standout of the game as she had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (two).

Durant's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-9. As for Newsome, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Durant has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Plant City on the 16th. As for Newsome, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Robinson on the 16th.
