Softball Recap: Wapato Gets the Win

Wapato won the last time they faced Wahluke and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wolves walked away with a 15-10 victory over the Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Shynee Hamilton was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Hamilton was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Ari Macias was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Valeria Perez-Zagal was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Wapato always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wapato's record is now 4-10. As for Wahluke, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Wapato will venture away from home to take on Zillah at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wahluke, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cashmere at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
