Football Recap: Serrano Piles Up the Points Against Granite Hills

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Serrano). They blew past the Granite Hills Cougars 43-13 on Friday. With the Diamondbacks ahead 28-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Cade Lafever threw for 97 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes. Nathan Contreras was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and one score.

The victory (which was Serrano's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. As for Granite Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serrano will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oak Hills at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Diamondbacks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Granite Hills, they will host Vista del Lago at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
