Softball Game Preview: Pittsfield Panthers vs. Epping Blue Devils

The Pittsfield Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Epping Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pittsfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Pittsfield fell victim to Portsmouth Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Pittsfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alivia Lavigne, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Raymond hit Epping with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils came up short against the Rams, falling 13-6. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Epping's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Pittsfield, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
