Recap: Middleton Tigers vs. Sickles Gryphons
The Middleton Tigers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Sickles by a score of 15-7 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Middleton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Middleton can attribute much of their success to Joshua Balloon, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Balloon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Jace Hardwick and Angelo Amador, Sickles certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hardwick rushed for 134 yards, while Amador picked up 53 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Middleton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for Sickles, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Middleton will be playing at home against King at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. King is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Sickles, they will head out on the road to face off against Steinbrenner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
