Baseball Game Preview: Dublin Gaels vs. Deer Valley Wolverines

The Dublin Gaels will head out on the road to take on the Deer Valley Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dublin will be strutting in after a victory while Deer Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

While Gaels fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They had just enough and edged out Irvington 2-1 on Saturday.

Dublin got a great performance from Andrew Zorinich as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits Zorinich has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Dublin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolby Breining, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Deer Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Mission San Jose on Thursday, falling 10-2. The Wolverines have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lucas Reiger was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
