Volleyball Recap: Diamond Takes a Loss

Diamond lost against Fair Grove back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-12 in the first set.

Diamond actually scored more points across those five sets (106-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 15-13.

Fair Grove found their leader in sophomore Taylor Waltz, who had 38 assists and seven digs. With that strong performance, Waltz is now averaging an impressive 12.5 assists per game.

Diamond's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9-1. As for Fair Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11-3 record this season.

Diamond has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Pierce City on the 23rd. As for Fair Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Reeds Spring on the 21st.
