Softball Recap: Russell Comes Up Short

Russell came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-5 to the Highlands Bluebirds.

Karson Honaker was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bella Hall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Russell now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Highlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

Russell will square off against St. Francis at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Highlands, they will host Rowan County at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
