Softball Recap: Klein Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Klein walked away with it. They skirted past the Cypress Ranch Mustangs 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Bearkats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Madilyn Schultz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Megan Meinhardt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Klein's record is now 18-10. As for Cypress Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

Looking ahead, Klein will square off against Oak Ridge on May 3. Cypress Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
