Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Ringgold's Fourth in Last Five Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Ringgold rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Blackhawk Cougars. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 12-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jimmy Nash looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Ringgold let Demetri Lowe and Gavin Angotti run wild. Lowe went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Angotti went 3-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits Angotti has posted since back in April of 2024.

Ringgold kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Ringgold is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blackhawk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Ringgold will face off against Elizabeth Forward on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.6, the Warriors 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Blackhawk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
