Volleyball Recap: Harbor Creek Huskies vs. Warren Dragons
After flying high against Seneca on Monday, Harbor Creek came back down to earth. The Huskies came up short against the Warren Dragons on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
While Harbor Creek was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.
Brianna Masterson paced Harbor Creek's offense, picking up six kills. Masterson got some help from Addison Lucas and her 12 assists. Finally, Masterson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Warren can attribute much of their success to Malysia Sorensen, who had 16 digs and two assists. Sorensen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Hailey Cabisca also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Harbor Creek suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 8-2. As for Warren, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2-2.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Harbor Creek is set to challenge their familiar foe General McLane at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Warren will take on rival Erie at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
