Volleyball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Mission Vista

The Westview Wolverines are taking a road trip to challenge Mission Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Westview was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Sage Creek. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted against the Bobcats since April 27, 2023.

Meanwhile, Mission Vista had just enough and edged out San Dieguito Academy 3-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for Mission Vista in their matchups with San Dieguito Academy: they've now won five in a row.

Mission Vista took San Dieguito Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-16, 19-25, 25-15, 17-15.

Mission Vista pushed their record up to 20-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Westview, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-18 record this season.

Westview couldn't quite get it done against Mission Vista in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
