Football Recap: Manatee Takes a Loss

After soaring to 42 points the game before, Manatee was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Lowndes Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 78th in Florida, while the Vikings are ranked 16th in Georgia).

Mason Summer threw for 69 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. J'Kwan Williams was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards. On the ground, Caedon White rushed for 31 yards.

Lowndes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Woods, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Khalil Williams was in the mix too, providing the Vikings with two scores.

Manatee now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lowndes, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Manatee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 30-13 defeat against Buchholz on the 12th. As for Lowndes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 38-7 win against Kell on the 12th.
