St. John's/Tipton Catholic extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Edward Horinek. The St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays enjoyed a cozy 77-63 victory over the Thunder Ridge Longhorns on Tuesday thanks in part to Horinek, who went 9-for-13 on his way to 22 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least 18 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Roderick, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 13 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last seven games he's played.

Thunder Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Evan Slavik, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Thunder Ridge's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 6-3 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Connor Engelke, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Thunder Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pike Valley at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. St. John's/Tipton Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Pike Valley likes a good challenge. As for Thunder Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-31 defeat against Sylvan-Lucas on the 7th.
